Castelli del Duca
Story of the wine:
The hills around the medieval town of Piacenza have long been overlooked in the wine world despite their ancient origins in making wine. Now Carlo Corino, generally regarded as one of Italy’s best winemakers, has turned his attention to the region and is realising its potential. Sauvignon has a long tradition in the area, dating from the late nineteenth century, it being originally a French grape. The trading and cultural connections with France go back over centuries and with it the importation of their grape varieties.
