Story of the Wine:
This is one of the new I.G.T. (Indicazione Geografica Tipica - the Italian equivalent of Vins de Pays) wines and is a blend of Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon. A medium weight red wine with plenty of fruit and soft tannins to balance. The name means literally 'hill of stones' of which there are plenty within Banfi's Tuscan estate near the small hilltop village of Montalcino.
